Evaluation
With
our knowledge and experience, we can identify sources
of mercury in your facility and provide you with alternatives in
order to reduce future exposure to mercury's
harmful effects. In combination with mercury vapor screening,
our evaluations can
ensure that your facility is "mercury free." Our
proprietary and confidential assessments will provide
you with a comprehensive list of mercury and mercury
containing devices/products within your facility. Nearly every building
has some type of mercury within it. Our evaluation and assessment
can identify mercury in one or more forms in:
Schools,
Colleges & Universities: (in
at least 100 different items). Click HERE to

Elemental Services & Consulting, Inc.
provides comprehensive consultation on the options available
for mercury contamination removal, options for
mercury free alternatives for mercury containing devices and for mercury
storage and spill prevention.
Vapor Screening
Using state of the art instrumentation, we provide screening
of all areas to ensure mercury contamination does not exist. This information
is made available
ONLY to our clients. If mercury contamination
is found, be assured Elemental Services & Consulting, Inc. can provide
effective techniques to remove the contamination.
Device Removal
We will remove all stored mercury and any mercury containing
devices. We then package and provide for disposal and documentation
of disposal for all
your stored mercury or mercury containing devices.
Plumbing Surveys
We provide plumbing trap inventory as well as "end-of-pipe" surveys
to determine the extent of mercury contamination within your plumbing
system. This survey will ensure compliance with standards for wastewater
discharge.
Following this survey, we can provide solutions to remove any contamination
that may be present. This service, along with our evaluation and consultation
will identify all sources of mercury within your facility, including
cleaning solutions, medical/scientific solutions and others, that may
be contributing
to the overall mercury load within your wastewater discharge.
“Rubberized” Gym
Floors (Tartan™)
Certain polyurethane “rubberized” flooring
contains mercury. Many of these floors and/or surfaces are
found in
gymnasiums, multipurpose rooms, hospitals, kitchens, running
tracks, industrial plants, hospitals and other locations.
Mercury
was used as a catalyst for the chemical reaction for the
two liquids
that were mixed together to form the flooring
as it was installed. Some of these floors emit mercury vapor
that may impact other items within the facility in which
they are installed. Not all “rubberized” floors
contain mercury and the only way to be certain is to perform
specific tests for the presence of mercury.
Experience
and testing has shown that many of these “rubberized” flooring
materials that do contain mercury, emit mercury vapor greater
than the recommended acceptable air concentration for mercury.
Training & Education
Whether you store and use mercury in your facility or if you have mercury containing
devices that you wish to continue to use, training and education is critical.
We provide comprehensive training on mercury spill response techniques and
on mercury spill planning and prevention. Additionally, we provide spill kits
and training in their proper use for any facility where mercury is used or
stored.
Spill Cleanup & Decontamination
Mercury contamination caused by known or unknown spills
or releases pose unique challenges. We have experience in cleaning up
thousands of mercury spills and
releases with effective and creative solutions.
